Solar Powered - Pilot Activated - Airfield Lighting

Our Pilot Activated Lanterns are a fantastic solution for temporary airfield lighting. Made from UV stabalised PVC with epoxy coated corrossion proofed circuitry, our lanterns can be left in the feild indefinitely.

Each lantern contains its own VHF radio receiver as well as manual switching. The radios are extremely stable and have an impressive range of 20nm. If activated by radio the lanterns will switch off after thirty minutes. They can also be switched off by radio to save battery charge.

A 7A.H battery provides 10 hours continuous use and a 1.8 watt solar panel recharges 1 hours use per day. The AGM batteries have a life span beyond five years if kept in a charged state.

Runway edge and threshold lights have 72 LED,s outputing 95 candela.
Taxi-way and Apron lights have 72 LED,s derated to output 50 candela.

Our lanterns are the ideal solution for emergency or temporary installations. Store them outside and they will always be fully charged ready for deployment.

For permanent installations, however, we recommend our reticulated lighting.
